Sweden and Lund host to the International Electric Road Conference 2020
The International Electric Road Systems Conference 2020 is expected to gather 400 participants in Lund next year. Participants include, among others, Minister of Infrastructure Tomas Eneroth. This is the first time the conference takes place in Skåne.
Electric Roads, or Electric Road Systems, is a rapidly growing technology area that allows charging of moving electric vehicles. Electric roads have the potential to reduce fossil fuel dependency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, reduce air pollution as well as reduce noise in urban environments, while increasing energy efficiency in the transport sector.
The International Electric Road Systems Conference (ERSC) annually brings together researchers, policy makers and professionals in the transport sector to share the latest research and exchange experiences on future electric roads. Next year, the conference will be held in Lund, May 12-13, which is expected to attract 400 national and international participants to Skåne. Last year, Frankfurt and Germany hosted the conference.
The Electric Road Systems Conference is organized by VTI, the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute, RISE and the Swedish Transport Administration. 2020, the conference is held at Medicon Village in Lund, May 12-13, in partnership with Innovation Skåne.
